Gulf Coast Storage Assessment has been released early by TGS

It has been announced that in early August, new data detailing the comprehensive carbon storage assessment dataset along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast, also covering the GLO lease blocks, will be released.

The purpose of this data, will be to help prospective bidders maximise their bid accuracy and it will also help to optimise project costs.

This innovative carbon storage assessment has been creatively constructed from the largest subsurface library in the world. It includes formation tops, petrophysically interpreted logs and finally, reservoir property maps, these include the maximum carbon storage volume per formation.

EVP of New Energy Solutions at TGS, Carel Hooijkaas, commented, "This workstation-ready data, specifically designed to provide carbon storage volumetrics and risks, underscores our commitment to facilitating informed decision-making and promoting sustainable carbon storage solutions across the Texas Gulf Coast. Participants in the GLO Lease Round can expect to leverage TGS data to navigate complexities and seize promising opportunities in carbon capture and storage."
