Honeywell announced on 15 February that ExxonMobil will deploy Honeywell’s carbon capture technologies at its integrated complex in Baytown, Texas. Honeywell’s CO2 Fractionation and Hydrogen Purification System is expected to enable ExxonMobil to capture about 7 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year. The captured CO2 will be sequestered and permanently stored by ExxonMobil, Honeywell stated in a press release. 

ExxonMobil’s Baytown low-carbon hydrogen, ammonia and carbon capture facility is slated to produce around one billion cubic feet of low-carbon hydrogen per day, making this the largest low-carbon hydrogen project in the world at the time of publishing this article. The facility is planned to begin operation in 2027- 2028.
