Equinor, Shell, Zero Carbon Capital Back DAC Start Up RepAir

Israel-based start up RepAir, which provides energy-efficient scalable CO2 solutions, raised $10m in Series A funding with participation from Equinor Ventures, Shell Ventures, and Zero Capital.

The company plans to use the funds to scale its operations and development efforts.

RepAir’s system is built using multiple cell stacks, making it modular, scalable, and affordable. The company led by CEO Amir Shiner aims to develop technology that uses less energy than conventional direct air capture (DAC) systems which tend to be energy intensive.

Its innovation captures carbon from the air, utilizing renewable electricity to separate CO2 at a gigaton scale.

RepAir Carbon was founded in 2020 with a vision of transforming the direct air capture (DAC) industry with its technology that uses 70% less energy than conventional DAC systems. Its low-cost, scalable solution captures carbon dioxide from the air, utilizing renewable electricity to separate CO2 at a gigaton scale.
